ODBC Connections

Q. I am seeing a Data Source Name (DSN) error when trying to open a database in ContactEase.

A. When you open a new database (mdb file) in ContactEase, the ODBC  DSN is automatically created. The error suggest a problem with the DSN, if the mapping has changed it may no longer match the path used by the DSN.

To correct this problem, open Control Panel and go to ODBC. Find the DSN for the problem database and remove it. Then restart ContactEase and use the File, Open option to open the database. If the error prevents you from starting, start ContactEase while holding down the Ctrl + Shift keys, this will start the program without opening any default databases.
