Record Security

Q. The New Record Access settings allow us to pre-define if a new record is public/private, marked or not.  What if I wanted to create a class or group of users and make a default that all records are Public and Marked.  I don't want to have to go into each account and set those options for that class and I don't want them to be able to go in and change those settings.  How can that be done?

A. We have a rollout tool/security definition file that helps with this (support by ContactEase v9.04 or greater). By modifying the setup.inf file (located with the setup.exe file) you can specify the security settings for new records when the client installation is run.
